It’s possible that you have a piece of clothing in your closet right now that you found at Summer Stock. Our customers often reminisce about an unforgettable outfit chosen for a special event or her first or favorite item purchased at Summer Stock. Since 1975, Marilyn Bogdan has thoughtfully and tastefully dressed our customers for everyday life, engagement parties, summer weddings, & honeymoons, Montauk Playhouse galas & MVA Greenery Scenery parties. The historic Harbormaster’s House, built in 1926 by Carl Fisher in the newly formed Montauk Harbor, is the longtime exclusive home to Summer Stock at Gosman’s Dock. Here’s how it all began:

Back in the early 70's a young couple gave up everything . . . their New York lifestyle, lucrative jobs, friends and family to take a chance on MONTAUK! They traded their gorgeous brownstone for a shabby, one-room fishing shack and opened a store on Gosman’s Dock. The first two years were full of excitement but they just couldn’t make ends meet. John Gosman, Sr wished to open a women’s store, and because of the Bogdans’ design background asked them to run it. They decided to give it just one more year . . . and it clicked!
Montauk was so exciting then — they were the years of Warhol, Halston, the Rolling Stones, Dick Cavett, Truman Capote and other luminaries. You never knew who would appear at Gosman’s Dock. But the real joys were Marilyn & Tom’s regular customers. Marilyn reminisces: “It was so heartwarming to see them return year after year. We loved hearing all about their families, families, births, & travels. We grew so fond of all of them. From the beginning we were blessed to have wonderful, caring, talented women working with us, and it became a family. Our thanks to all who made it that way. Thank you for your years of support and for all those wonderful memories! Sending a message of love and hope to you all!”
